Bread Pudding Custard

Whoever said puddings can only be made in patisserie was wrong. A little innovation and twist in the recipe creates a wonderful aromatic creates pudding custard. Whip up this lovely surprise for your family on special occasion.

Bread Pudding Custard


  • 9-10 Modern Fruity Bread slices
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 2 tbsps. All-purpose flour (maida)
  • 2 small cups milk
  • 1 small cup sugar
  • 2 tbsps. butter
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla essence
  • 8-10 raisins


  1. For pudding– Mix eggs, milk, cinnamon, half of sugar and one tbsp. butter in a bowl. Add raisins and fruity bread pieces. Grease a baking dish and the pour the mixture. Bake at 360 degree centigrade till the centre is soft. (Insert a knife and check).
  2. For custard– In heavy bottomed pan, mix rest of the sugar, flour and water till it turns smooth. Add remaining butter. Boil over medium heat, stir for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla essence.
  3. Serve the custard with bread pudding.
