Bread Idli

When life can be so simple with bread, why get into the tedious process of making rice or semolina batter? Here’s a simple bread idli for you.

  • 10-12 Modern Multigrain Super Seed Bread slices
  • ½ cup roasted peanuts
  • 200 gm grated coconut
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 tsp. Mustard seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp. refined oil
  • Salt to taste


  1. Cut bread slices in round pieces. (You can do it with the help of a bowl placed upside down on the bread)
  2. Crush roasted peanuts. Mix with grated coconut, green chillies and water. Make a paste with medium consistency. Season with salt.
  3. Heat 1 tsp. oil and add mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter.
  4. Add curry leaves. Sautee for a minute. Pour the coconut-peanuts paste into the pan. Stir for 2-3 minutes and remove from heat.
  5. Serve bread idli with coconut chutney.
